Utility Infrastructure Replacement and Seismic Strengthening (UIR-SS)

The UIR/SS is a fully state funded project that replaces an extensive amount of underground utilities across campus and also provides several system upgrades to the Applied Technology Building.  This larger project is actually 8 smaller projects combined.

The new water tanks are really taking shape.

Wahlund Construction and Mercer Fraser are working on the circle that is the footing for the north tank. Next week they will form for the concrete pour the following week, then they will excavate the south tank footing.

UIR final project gets started:

The final project of the Utility Infrastructure Project got underway last week. Mercer Fraser Construction cleared the area where both of the new 300,000 gallon water tanks will be placed.

Home Stretch of UIR

Starting Mid-March Wahlund Construction will start the last part of the Utility Infrastructure Replacement (UIR) project. The UIR project consisted of 8 infrastructure upgrades and the installation of (2) 300,000 gallon steel water tanks is the last project. They will be located between the fieldhouse and softball field but not in the parking lot. The estimated completion is January 2023.

Once the project starts we will update you weekly with a blog post which will include pictures and project updates. Stay tuned……….
